ASHFORD KITCHENS & INTERIORS FAQ

BESPOKE KITCHENS FAQ’s
No, our design consultations are completely free of charge and come with no obligation. All of our plans and proposals remain the property of Ashford Kitchens until an order is placed with us.
The first step in our process is to visit one of our showrooms and explore the extensive range of kitchens that we offer. We will then arrange a suitable time for a designer to visit and measure your space. (If you have plans for an extension, we invite you to meet with our designer in our showroom for your consultation.)
Our designer will take all the information discussed, along with measurements of your space, and create a tailored design to meet your requirements. This design will then be presented to you at a meeting back in our showroom. Once you've decided to proceed, we will introduce you to our project coordination team, who will manage the ordering and installation process, including booking the fitting date and addressing any installation queries you may have.
Yes, we take pride in offering a fully project-managed renovation service. Our team at Ashford Kitchens & Interiors includes electricians, plumbers, plasterers, tilers, and carpenters, all of whom are capable of carrying out a complete start-to-finish renovation, with these specialists coordinated by our in-house project management team.
All our installers hold the necessary qualifications for the work being carried out (Electricians are 'Part P' qualified, and gas engineers are registered with the 'Gas Safe' register). You will also receive certificates for these qualifications where required.
Our professional team of kitchen designers at Ashford Kitchens & Interiors works with you to create a kitchen layout that perfectly aligns with your vision, space, and the style of your home. We collaborate closely with every client to design a bespoke layout that considers the shape, size, and layout of their kitchen, as well as their style and design preferences. Our kitchen designs seamlessly integrate with your space, fulfilling both your practical requirements and personal style choices.
A modern kitchen design typically focuses on minimalism, clean lines, and functionality. It often incorporates contemporary materials like glass, stainless steel, and stone, emphasising open, uncluttered spaces. Smart technology, such as integrated appliances and lighting, is commonly included. The overall aesthetic is simple yet elegant, with a focus on timeless sophistication and practicality. At Ashford Kitchens & Interiors, we can work with you to create a bespoke modern kitchen design that perfectly suits your home.
The latest trends in kitchen design in the UK focus on bold colours, smart technology, and sustainability. Bold, contrasting colours are gaining popularity, while the use of smart technology, such as integrated appliances, continues to rise, offering enhanced convenience. Sustainable materials are also in high demand as people become more environmentally conscious. At Ashford Kitchens & Interiors, we embrace these trends to create kitchens for your clients that are both stylish and innovative.
Some of the most popular kitchen layouts in the UK include the L-shape, where the kitchen units are arranged along two walls forming a right angle, the U-shape, where cabinets and appliances are placed along three walls for ample storage, and the galley layout, which features two parallel runs of cabinets. There’s also the island layout, which includes a central island for added workspace.
There’s also a peninsula layout, where a work surface extends from a wall, creating a bridge between kitchen areas. It’s similar to an island kitchen, but the peninsula is attached to the wall instead of being free-standing. Each layout works best depending on your kitchen size and how you use the space.

A full-fit kitchen installation includes everything from start to finish, covering all plumbing, electrical work, and finishing touches to ensure a seamless and hassle-free process. With a full-fit kitchen installation, we handle every aspect, ensuring a smooth and efficient transformation with minimal disruption to your home.
Our experienced team takes care of all the details, allowing you to enjoy your new kitchen without the stress of coordinating multiple trades. The timeline may vary depending on the additional work required. Contact our team to discuss your specific project and receive a more detailed timeline.
The duration of a kitchen installation depends on factors like size, design complexity, and the scope of work. On average, a full kitchen installation takes 3-4 weeks, though this can vary based on your project. The process includes removing your old kitchen, plumbing and electrical adjustments, fitting cabinetry and appliances, and installing custom worktops, which may add time depending on the material.
Finishing touches, such as backsplashes and final connections, complete the installation. While the fitting can be completed within weeks, custom materials and structural changes can extend the timeline. Once we’ve discussed your requirements, we’ll be able to provide a more accurate timeframe.
A dry fit kitchen installation involves fitting and securing all of your cabinets in place, without final plumbing, electrical work, or finishing details. It’s typically chosen if you already have builders or tradespeople on-site carrying out property extensions or significant structural alterations.
A dry fit kitchen installation usually takes 3-5 days, as it focuses on securing cabinets, with no additional work involved. If you're interested in a dry fit, please contact our team today.
